Latest playing information 9th June

Dear Frensham Members,

I am writing to advise the latest news regarding playing tennis at Frensham. I have also attached the latest guidelines form the LTA for your information.
The recent changes are as follows

 1) Court Bookings can be increased to 1hour 30mins.

2)  Club sessions will be reviewed second week of July. Members can arrange their own social tennis, adhering to social distancing, hand sanitising and no more than 5 players per court. Balls can now be shared amongst players but try to limit the touching of balls as much as possible.

3)  Members to only use clubhouse for essential use, no socialising. All recently joined members will be given keys to the clubhouse.

4) Coaching sessions can be booked with Matt Marlow – email info@returntennis.co.uk. Individual or small groups up to 5 players.  We will review all Drills sessions in July.  Matt will send out a separate note to juniors re coaching.

5) We are continuing to allow members of the same household to play free of charge until the end of June.

6) Members will be allowed to bring only 1 guest at any one time from outside their household with a guest fee of £5 per visit. A guest can visit up to 7 times a year. Members must email me if they are playing with a guest then we can follow the LTA safety guidelines regarding track and trace. We do need to know who is playing on our courts at all times. Payment for guests should be made directly to the Frensham Ltc bank account along with the name of member.

7) Padlocks will remain on courts as we are trying to restrict the use of the clubhouse.

It is great to see so many members playing at the moment. Also following the Government guidelines and enjoying the lovely facilities we have at Frensham. If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Best wishes

Latest Corona virus advice from LTA

Lockdown update, 1 June 2020

Following the recent advice from the Government and LTA, we are pleased to inform you that the following changes to the Club operations will come into force from tomorrow, 1st June 2020.

1) Doubles is now permitted from more than one house hold, however strict social distancing must still be maintained.

2) The Clubhouse will be opened to allow use of toilet facilities. Members are requested to ensure that wherever possible rubbish is taken away and also members should provide their own hand sanitation. We will have a cleaner coming in but we need to rely on members to tidy up after themselves.

3) Members should still bring their own balls but whilst playing you are now able to share balls with other players.

4) Please remember to keep the safe distancing of 2 metres apart and please ensure you access the courts through the gate near the clubhouse rather than via the Bowls club. Also, when you access court 1 and 2 please ensure you enter via the appropriate gate.
All court bookings must be made using Clubsparks.

5) Our Head Coach Matt will be in contact in the next day or so with detailed information regarding Drills and Coaching, which will commence on Monday 8th June.

We will be keeping the padlocks on for the time being as we appreciate that not everyone will want to enter the clubhouse.

Let’s hope the nice weather continues and everyone is able to enjoy the lovely facilities we have at Frensham LTC.

Courts reopening!

I am pleased to inform you that the club will reopen for tennis at 8:30am, Saturday the 16th of May. Before you book a court can you read FLTC return to play requirements 13th May 2020 and ensure you can and will follow it in all respects. A risk assessment has been completed and changes were made today to safeguard members. These include changes to how the courts are accessed and how they are used.
As a committee we have decided to include a provision for a member to play with another person(s) in their household who may not be a member themselves. This will be reviewed at the end of the month but is very likely to continue as we do not foresee a problem with court availability.
Frensham LTC has a very sociable membership and there will be a temptation to catch up in groups with friends. We must resist that temptation and follow social distancing rules at all times.
The Clubhouse will remain closed for safety reasons, therefore we have decided to have a combination lock on each entrance to the courts. All fully paid up members will receive a code to gain access to the courts.
Thank you for your patience and if there is any feedback on how we can improve these changes please do not hesitate to contact me.
Hope everyone is looking forward to returning to tennis and hope the good weather continues.
Best wishes
